2018 Spinifex Papillon
Introducing Papillon - one of the most gluggable reds in the Barossa Valley!
The Spinifex wines cover a wide spectrum, from rich, full-throttled old vine Shiraz all the way to this, a light bodied, energetic Grenache Cinsault blend made for easy day-time drinking.
These styles are certainly in vogue but as usual, winemaking wizard Schell elevates it to another level, utilising incredibly old vines and astute winemaking to add depth and complexity to what is joyously pure red berried fruit.
Papillon is one of our go-to's and just unbeatable value. What a producer Spinifex is.Read more about 2018 Spinifex Papillon
2018 Thivin Beaujolais Villages Manoir Du Pave
Chateau Thivin is one of the the premier producers of Beaujolais.
The Geoffray family have produced wines in the area for six generations. They are been one of the spearheads of the revitalisation of Beaujolais, where traditional winemaking and great vineyards have converged into some of the best value reds in all of Burgundy.
This is the family's entry level red. It's Gamay made in a uber-juicy, poppy style. The vinification was fast and furious - over and done in less than a week. What's left in the bottle is a super-fresh, delicious little red ready for the warmer months.
Gary Walsh dubbed it a "Lovely thing to drink." which sums it up nicely.Read more about 2018 Thivin Beaujolais Villages Manoir Du Pave
2016 Maretti Langhe Rosso
Produced by the winemaker behind the famed wines of Mirafiore and Fontanafredda, this is a delicious little Langhe blend that gives you the personality of Piedmonte at just a snip of a price.
This is a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbaera - the region's two hero red varieties - with a mix of traditional and modern winemaking techniques used during production.
It's an unpretentious and totally smashable entry point into the wines of the region, both earthy and brightly fruited.
If you need some quaffing table reds and you love the Piedmontese vibe, buying just doesn't get much better than this.Read more about 2016 Maretti Langhe Rosso
2017 Pittnauer Pitti Red
Gerhard and Brigitte Pittnauer's wines are some of the best coming out of the Burgenland region at the moment.
These red wines of brightness and insane drinkability have seen him garner many accolades in recent times, including 2014 Winemaker of the Year by Falstaff magazine, the top winemaker award in Austria.
The Pitti Red is an ultra fresh, inviting little blend of native Austrian varieties Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch with a splash of Merlot. It sees no oak whatsoever, the fruit laid open and bare for all to see.
Juicy, berry-packed and moreishly savoury on the finish - here's arguably the best value Austrian red that makes it to Australia today.Read more about 2017 Pittnauer Pitti Red
2017 Laura Catena La Posta Paulucci Malbec

2017 Bodegas Pirineos Principio Moristel
Somontano is a cool northern Spanish region at the base of the Pyrenees.
A collective of over 230 small growers in the region banded together under the banner of Bodega Prineos to preserve the local winemaking custom.
Moristel is a red skinned grape found only in this small pocket of Spain. As the families have ripped up and replanted more popular varieties over the years, the variety has almost gone extinct. It now makes up less than 2% of all plantings in the Somontano DO.
This may be the only straight varietal bottling of Moristel you will find anywhere in the world. And it's delicious. It's a rich, chocolatey, slippery red that shows plums, dates and soft, silky tannins. It's a great value curio for those looking for one-of-a-kind wines on the fringe.Read more about 2017 Bodegas Pirineos Principio Moristel
