About The Pack

This pack is designed purely for those who want to drink like a rockstar.

We've got six absolutely sensational reds here and only a limited amount to go around.

It's a snapshot of just how awesome Australian wine is today.

Some iconic wineries, some modern cult classics, each one a dead set killer and not to be missed.

2018 Yangarra King’s Wood Shiraz

The King's Wood Shiraz is one of the premium, small batch releases in the excellent Yangarra portfolio.

One of the best portions of the Yangarra vineyard was selected for this wine. There were 25% whole bunches used in the ferment, the fruit hand-picked and carefully double-sorted for quality control before being hand-plunged and left to rest in a huge oak cask before bottling.

Oak is well and truly in the background here. Winemaker Peter Fraser and team highlighting the quality and vibrancy of their fruit as the hero in this wine.

This is a pristine example of McLaren Vale Shiraz at its absolute best. Poised, polished and powerful, it's a beautiful wine with a long life ahead.

2018 Mayford Tempranillo

If you've been keeping track of Australia's best alternative variety wines of the last few years, this should already be on your hit list.

The Mayford Tempranillo may well be Australia's most consistently excellent Tempranillo. Grown on a small vineyard in Porepunkah in the Alpine Valleys, Eleana Anderson and Bryan Nicholson are the couple responsible for this beautiful Australian benchmark for the variety.

It's the undeniable power and structure of the wine that truly sets it apart. Consistently one of the finest examples in the land, the 2018 looks to be one of Mayford's best to date. If you want to see how good Australian Tempranillo can be, this is the best place to start.

2019 Chatto Tasmanian Pinot Noir

Jim Chatto is one of Australia's most highly regarded living winemakers. Some of his recent releases may well come to be seen as some of the best wines of his generation. His winemaking ethos is simple and site driven: the very model of modern Australian wine.

Whilst the whole Chatto label has been founded on a single vineyard in the Huon Valley, in 2019 there's a departure for Jim, forced by smoke taint on his own fruit.

Tasmania is a blend of three vineyards in the north of Tasmania, two in the Tamar Valley and one in Pipers River.

It's classic Chatto in style, with savouriness and earthen aspects to the fore. It's a gorgeous wine for both drinking now and well into the future.

2018 S.C. Pannell Old McDonald Grenache

Steve Pannell has been a leading figure in the rejuvenation and reinvention of Grenache in McLaren Vale over the last 20 years. Here we see the next step in his constant pursuit of perfection for the variety.

This year he releases two single vineyard Grenaches from McLaren Vale. This, the Old McDonald vineyard is 75 years old in the Grenache epicentre of the region, Blewitt Springs.

This was fermented in small batches with 12% whole bunches, pressed gently after 11 days on skins and then sent to a eight-year-old 5000L oak vat to mature.

It's the detail and drive in this wine that is so startling.

As Gary Walsh said in his 96 point review, this is, "Powerful, insistently and delightfully tannic Grenache."

2017 Domenica Nebbiolo

Peter Graham's Nebbiolo is a labour of love. He crafts it in a traditional way.

The fruit is gently handled from picking to the long, slow ferment. His two large traditional botte, his pride and joy, are filled by gravity. The juice is left to sleep for a few years prior to release. It's a long process to get the wine to bottle but it's worth the wait.

The 2017 is a brilliant release. This is set to be one of the benchmark Nebbiolo releases in Australia this year. For enthusiasts of variety, it's a must have.

It's become one of the most sought-after Nebbiolos in the country. Do yourself a favour and get some in the cellar while you still can.

2016 Domaine Naturaliste Morus Cabernet Sauvignon

The Morus is the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee from Domaine Naturaliste.

The oldest and best vineyard source in Bruce Dukes' portfolio, this is grown on some of the most coveted Cabernet vines in Margaret River. Morus australis is the species name for the mulberry tree, mulberry being the key identifying characteristic of this wine, according to the winemaker.

This wine finds itself amongst the most elite of Margaret River Cabernet.

A powerful wine of commanding presence and outstanding quality built for the long haul in the cellar.

No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!

Are there volume discounts?

No our pricing is aiming to the best in the market already. For very large orders (weddings etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call. How does the price match work?

Everyday Low & Consistent Pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll match it. We'll even retrospectively refund you if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.

I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me?

This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 1300 668 385 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.

Does Different Drop have a physical store?

No, not really. More of a warehouse/office. We do however offer a Click & Collect option from our warehouse in Ultimo, Sydney. Our warehouse address for Click & Collect is: F5A, 42 Wattle St, Ultimo, 2007

Can I special order a wine you do not sell?

If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
