About The Wine
Here's an unusual blend of white grapes from Neil Hawkins built to tell the story of his vineyard in the great 2015 vintage in Gippsland.
The varieties and the blend are kept secret, but suffice to say you see delicious zippy acidity from the Riesling, lovely floral tones from the Pinot Gris, a little extra weight on the palate from the perfectly ripe Chardonnay that's in the mix.
Neil Hawkins certainly walks to the beat of his own drum and this unique white is another impressive release.
Both complex and refreshing all at once.
About The Wine Farm
The Wine Farm is a small organically farmed vineyard at the Southern-most tip of the Gippsland region.
This is one of the coolest sites on mainland Australia. The man behind the project, Neil Hawkins, along with his wife Anna, have brought this picturesque patch of land back to life since taking it over.
There are eight varieties planted over seven acres which are producing wonderful, expressive wines. Neil makes the wines with minimal intervention.
The health of the farm is their number one priority, As Neil says, "Under no circumstances whatsoever will we use herbicides, systemic fungicides or insecticides in our vines/on our property. The most important life on The Wine Farm (family and pets aside) is what crawls beneath the soils."
