A mentor to the next generation of Hunter winemakers. The pedigree of his Breamore Semillon is one of the most revered in the industry. This single vineyard wine is remarkable for its ability to show well in its youth as well as with a decade or more in the cellar. The 2016 was rated 96 points by James Halliday, early recognition of a wine with a big future ahead of it. Sourced from arguably the best Semillon vineyard in the Hunter, whole bunch pressed, and five weeks on lees in stainless, this is Hunter Semillon at its absolute best.

We experienced some relatively significant rain during January, but thankfully escaped the early season hail storms that ravaged some other vineyards in the Hunter. Careful, selective hand picking during the last week of January resulted in slightly reduced yields of nice and clean, ripe fruit. Whole bunch pressed to minimise phenolics and fermented with a neutral yeast to enhance the varietal purity. The wine spent five weeks resting on its yeast lees prior to bottling in May.
