- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
Here's the freaky of the freaky in the world of weird and wonderful Australian wine. The Bright Side of Life is a natural sparkling wine made from skin contact Viognier grown in the Adelaide Hills. It combines Alex Schulkin's two winemaking loves at present, the art of making Petillant Natural and skinsy, funky Viognier - it's a wild ride. Alex and Galit made only 50 dozen as something of an experiment and it's turned out a treat. Trainspotters who love wines out there on the edge, get involved!
What it Tastes Like
It's a fuzzy, furry affair, all peachy and zesty with chewy tannins and a lovely spritz. Apricot. All the apricot. as well as ginger and something like a herb garden in the mix as well. Such an interesting thing to drink. Wild stuff to be sure, but loads of personality.
ORANGE PÉT-NAT. VIOGNIER, MT. TORRENS We wanted to see if we can combine two wines we enjoy in one: an orange Viognier and a Pét-Nat. Apparently, we can :) This one got true grit, as tannin from the grape skins and the bubbles make it really textural and dry. The usual skin-contact Viognier deliciousness, lush and soft as you put it in your mouth, peachy ginger kind of thing, but count to three and it will give your palate a solid grip. Really playful beast. Grown by Mike and Margaret Sparrow. No added SO2 at any stage 50 cases made
Bottle Size: 750ml
