- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
It's always handy to have a cheap and cheerful Pinot Noir in the house, but they are so few and far between. Nicholas Crampton and Corey Ryan have delivered the goods here. This is Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir set to a bright and cheery theme. This is not for pondering of for pontificating, it's for drinking with gusto - any night of the week. If you love to have a quaffing Pinot in your wine rack, this is a cracking option. As Campbell Mattinson said, "... it’s great value. Put this on your shopping list"
What it Tastes Like
"The front label says that it’s from “South Australia” but the website says 100% Adelaide Hills. Either way it’s great value. Put this on your shopping list. Simultaneously sweet and savoury with red/black cherry, anise and boysenberry providing plenty of juicy flavour. That’s the thing: it serves fruit sweetness but then tempers it beautifully. Spice notes add to the show. Fantastic value in a pinot noir context." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)
92 points “The wine over-delivers itself handsomely on the price, almost to 'How do they do it' territory. It tastes of boysenberry, black cherry, orange oil and anise, the mix of sweetness, tang and spiciness quite exquisitely well done. You pretty much can't go wrong here.“
- James Halliday (Australian Wine Compnaion)

Winemaking: Sourced from a number of vineyards within the Adelaide Hills across a number of micro climates – providing a good blend of expressive fruit, structure and high note aromatics. Primarily machine picked before vinification in a combination of small and large open fermenters. The majority of the blend is matured in stainless steel with a component aged in new and one year old French oak. 2016 Vintage: An outstanding vintage. Excellent, balanced and consistent conditions – warm but crucially not too warm, dry but not too dry, and finally cool Autumn nights that allowed for retention of natural acidity – have led to intensely flavoured and brilliantly balanced fruit with excellent freshness.

About the Producer
Take it to the Grave
Take It To The Grave is a co-op between Sons of Eden’s Corey Ryan and Nick Crampton of Woods Crampton fame. In this range the two are looking for vibrant, youthful wines from premium regions that seriously over-deliver in the value for money stakes. The two bringing every ounce of their considerable experience to bear on what is, whichever way you cut it, a remarkably priced range of wines.
The Adelaide Hills may be the most energised wine region in the country. The sense of exploration and creativity amongst the tribe of talented young winemakers in this region is unparralelled. The Hills has become crucible of Australian wine talent, offering an array of varieties, from classics such as Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, to new varieties like Nebbiolo and Grüner Veltliner for the younger generation to play with. Every vintage brings new colour and complexity to the rich wine, food and produce culture of this cool climate region.
No variety captures the hearts and minds of the wine lover quite like Pinot Noir. It’s the unicorn of many a winemaker. Notoriously fickle to grow, this delicate red variety can deliver a kaleidoscope of flavours and aromas, from the bright and floral to the moody and mysterious and everything in between. The cooler regions of Australia are where Pinot Noir is most at home. Look to Tasmania and Victoria for the best examples, with some quality wines beginning to show from the Great Southern and from the cooler parts of NSW. Falling in love with Pinot Noir can be a life long affair, beware the charms of this most enchanting of grapes.
