It is fascinating to see the multiple styles/versions of this variety being made from the Ricca Terra Farms vineyards. With other producers, from Brad Hickey (Brash Higgins) to Brendan and Laura Carter (Unico Zelo) and Brad Wehr (Amato Vino) sourcing Fiano from this site, Ricca Terra is one of the go-to sites for the new-gen producers looking to have a dig at this variety rapidly rising in popularity throughout Australia. This is the take of Tammy Braybrook and Paul Starr at Sassafras in Canberra. It's a great look at the natural texture and interest that can be generated by this grape without much adjustment. A little time on skins adds some definition. In his 92 point review, Mike Bennie wrote, "Hard to see anyone not liking this. Great expression."

What it Tastes Like

_92 points. "Shimmering golden colour in the glass, an invite if there ever was one. Honeydew melon, stewed apple, cinnamon and grilled nut scents. More enticement. Slickness in texture slips into a crackling, crunchy finish. White pear and green apple and oyster shell-like minerality to taste. Starburst of ripe lime juice and pleasing bitter herbs to finish. So much easy pleasure here. Hard to see anyone not liking this. Great expression." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
