Sam Vinciullo is an energetic young winemaker who has nested back in his home of WA after years of making wine around the world. He's resolutely committed to the ideas of organic grape growing and natural winemaking. As such, his wines are completely unadulterated. He is a meticulous winemaker, ever in search of purity and balance. The 2016 Red/White (affectionately known as the "Schmerlot") is a blend of Merlot and Semillon grown on the Si Vintners vineyard in Margaret River. In 2015, his Semillon fruit was decimated by birds in the vineyard forcing him to blend the two varieties. He liked it so much it's become part of the range. Sam's wines are thrilling and completely unique. If you want to see what's on the exciting fringes of WA wine, Sam is it.

What it Tastes Like

Lovely perfume of plums and herbs with a lift from the Semillon. The white wine acid cuts through the sloshy, plump fruit giving it freshness and a tightness that catches you by surprise. It's refreshing, pure and glugable with soft wispy tannins. A delightful drink all up.
