- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
The Grower Series of wines is a new venture for Erinn and Janet Klein of Ngeringa. It's a chance for the couple to spread their winemaking wings beyond their beautiful biodynamic vineyard. Working in partnership with farmers from the region, trying some new things. A fun little venture. This is a fumé blanc style of wine, with the Sauvignon Blanc fruit undergoing time in barrel and partial malo for a little extra mid-palate creaminess. It's a blistering example of the style, both lively and powerful all at once.
What it Tastes Like
Powerhouse nose. Fresh cut pineapple, custard apple notes, some fresh cream and passionfruit. It's all good. It has some serious get up and go in the mouth; creamy, a little grippy and lively all at once. Stylish version of Sauvignon Blanc with barrel work. Good stuff.
Made in a Fume Blanc style - 30% barrel fermented in old French oak, full malolactic fermentation. The rest of the grapes are fermented in stainless and undergo partial malolactic. Fruit is not estate grown but comes off a conventionally farmed block in the Adelaide Hills.
Closure: Screw Cap

About the Producer
Ngeringa is one of Australia’s pioneering biodynamic vineyards. The wines that winemaker Erinn Klein produces from their lovingly farmed site are pure and restrained renditions of cool climate wines. The farm is everything to the Kleins and it yields wonderful fruit alongside sustainably farmed produce. Theirs is one of the Adelaide Hills’ most important viticultural sites.
The Adelaide Hills may be the most energised wine region in the country. The sense of exploration and creativity amongst the tribe of talented young winemakers in this region is unparralelled. The Hills has become crucible of Australian wine talent, offering an array of varieties, from classics such as Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, to new varieties like Nebbiolo and Grüner Veltliner for the younger generation to play with. Every vintage brings new colour and complexity to the rich wine, food and produce culture of this cool climate region.
