Hamish Young's energetic Mada range represents a new face of Canberra wine. His wines are colourful, youthful, exuberant, and making all the right noises to expose a new generation to the charms of Canberra wine. This is the first release of the Mada Petillant Naturel. It's made from Riesling fruit, vinified in ceramic egg, left on lees in tank for three months, then bottled before the completion of ferment. It's an ultra-fresh, crisp and clean version of this hugely popular wine style. Insane value for fans of Pet-Nat.
What it Tastes Like
This is just bang on. Clean, bright, crunchy green apple flavour. Zested lime and a squeeze of the juice. There's some slightly chewy texture that gives it a little x-factor but ultimately it's all about crisp, refreshing fizz which is near impossible to stop drinking.
Ceramic egg ferment, 3 months chilled in stainless on lees, then bottled in spring.
