This is the first release of the Mac Forbes Yarra Valley Syrah.
Mac has experimented with Syrah for a few years now, looking for a lighter, more ‘fine boned’ version of the variety under his ‘EB’ range. In 2016, the warmer conditions offered fruit ripeness with plenty of flavour from the fruit grown on his home block near Healesville.
This Syrah is filled with spice and plenty of power. It sits well and truly in the cool-climate style, however, there is no shortage of flavour. Lovers of the spicy side of Syrah will find plenty of joy here. Very high quality for a moderate price.
What It Tastes Like
Green herbs, chocolate bullets, olives and soy sauce. It smells a little wild, but tucks in nicely through the palate. Sweet black fruit and firm granitic tannin, with a furiously spicy finish that keeps you coming back for more.
This is our first release of the Yarra Valley Syrah. Classic Syrah spice with black and red fruit and fresh acidity. The Yarra Valley Syrah is all from our home winery block in Healesville.
