The Liquid Rock ‘N’ Roll White Noise is a blend of Riesling and Gewurztraminer from the King Valley.
It’s an explosive, aromatic wine built unashamedly for pure smashability. The main riff of the song, the driving force, is the Riesling. Focused, taught and sharp.
The Gewurz does all the flashy stuff, lending high-toned aromatics and a roundness to the palate. These are the warm tones and harmonics of the piece.
This is the wine you throw back in the park or open with some good Thai takeaway. Don’t think too much about it, just get stuck in.
What It Tastes Like
Musk, lemons, limes and a hint of lychee. Spicy scents and floral tones. Drinkability is off the ricta. Clean lines of acid. A dash of sweetness to fill things out. A soft powdery character on the tongue. Yummo. Chill and drink deep.
90 points. “Hyper floral, aromatic, lychee and mandarin scents. Juicy, mouth perfume-esque, slippery texture then a brittle, lemony finish. Good drinking. Nice one.”
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
From the Merkel Vineyard on Mount Bellevue at 650m in the heart of the King Valley region. Hot days and cold nights during the growing season provide fruit with plenty of varietal flavour and high natural acid.
Pressed together and fermented with indigenous yeast on solids with oxidative handling, the wine gains complexity and texture before it is cooled to arrest the fermentation with 4g/L of residual sugar remaining. The wine is then settled, racked and left to integrate in the tank on fine lees until it is ready to be bottled.
Closure: Screw Cap
Bottle Size: 750ml

The wine history of the King Valley is fascinating. What started as primarily tobacco farms run by Italian families transitioned to vineyards sporting Italian varieties. If you are hunting Sangiovese, Vermentino, Prosseco or aromatic whites like Riesling or Pinot Grigio, King Valley has a rich history with these varieties and, in many cases, multiple generations worth of history making and growing them. The intimate knowledge these winemakers have of their region and vines has seen the quality of King Valley wine improve year after year.
