This may be one of the finest renditions of Vermentino in the country at the moment, a clear step in the right direction for this Italian variety. This is grown in the cool Ballandean Valley, the most prestigious pocket of the Granite Belt region. The wine sees a little time in barrel during fermentation which really ramps up the pace. It's razor-sharp but with a few more gears of texture than your average lean and mean Vermentino. The winery describes it as "a rich textured traditional Sardinian style of Vermentino." Mike Bennie awarded it 94 points calling it a "Brilliant wine." Sensational value to be had here for fans of this variety.

What it Tastes Like

"Crikey. This leapt out from the pack. Not just reliant on lean, raciness in style, there’s plenty going on in this wine. Brilliant wine. Punchy bouquet shows honey, touch of toastiness, rich nougat, ripe stone fruit and green apple characters. Generous in the palate but ultra fresh. Nuts and fino sherry and fresh crushed apple juice. Tight line of zingy acidity. Loads of personality and so very refreshing. Intrigue and character." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
