- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
This is a fun and frisky white wine designed for maximum immediate pleasure. Here, winemaker Steve Crawford takes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Garganega and Roussanno from across South Australia, works it gently in the winery and blends it together with great success. Steve describes it as, "A truly classic multi-regional and multi- varietal blend, allowing us to experiment with different parcels of fruit to create a textural white-ish wine made purely for the table." It's such good drinking, the balance of varieties absolutely spot on. Bellissimo!
What it Tastes Like
Summer fruit salad, a hint of honey and beez wax. It's faintly powdery and a little glossy in texture. Glides through the mouth on a slipstream of fruit. Phwoa, could drink a lot of this. Interesting but ultimately just super drinkable.
91 points. "Barossa and Adelaide Hills fruit, hang the varieties, get stuck in. ‘Bonza vino’ as they say. Must see some skin contact for its colour and texture. Au naturale feel. What a cracker. Stacks of personality. Screeching sideways into the palate with orange zest, chalky apple character, bergamot tea vibes. Bouquet is orangey, farmhouse cidery. Colour is orange. Hey! It’s brilliant fun, has loads of personality, zig zags of powdery tannin and a whip crack of acidity through its longish finish. Chilled tumblers and carafe and away you go with sunshine and salads. Unreal." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
A truly classic multi-regional and multi- varietal blend. Garganega and Grigio saw skin contact (3 weeks for the Garganega and 3 days for the Grigio) while Sauvignon and Roussanno saw slow, oxidate pressing and barrel fermentation.
