If there's one thing that Steve Crawford was born to do - it's make Riesling. He's surrounded himself with it constantly; from the Clare Valley to Rheinhessen in Germany. His latest release is his most smashable to date. Though he could easily make a clean cut, paint-by-numbers Riesling, given the quality of fruit he sources from Polish Hill River and the Sevenhill area in the Clare, but he chooses not too. This vintage saw 12 hours skin contact, and a ferment on full solids. The newest release is slightly more fruit-sweet than the ‘15 and for our money, a much more glugable wine. Nice one Freddy - keep 'em coming...

What it Tastes Like

Smells of tonic water, limes and some decaying flowers. There's a long, slightly toasted theme to the palate. Juicy, fruity, fun but interesting - a succlent riesling with lots of generosity. Good gear. Could smash this by the bucket load.
