Rosado is a much-loved wine style in Spain. These easy drinkability and refreshing crispness of these wines mesh so well with the Spanish culture. Much like ours, here in Australia. Here, Jo Perry tries to capture the essence of Rosado. This is 100% Tempranillo from a block not far from the Dormilona winery. It's made classically: whole bunch pressed to a combination of barrels and tanks, gently worked during ferment and then stirred for three months after. It's spicy and bristling with personality. The perfect wine to take on long lunches on warm days.
What it Tastes Like
It smells of cherries and raspberries dusted with cinnamon. It's crunchy with acidity but a soft leesy textural component lets it snake gently through the mouth. Thirst quenching style built for tapas and beach chairs.
Rosado is made in the classic Spanish style of rosé, bone dry & 100% Tempranillo. Fruit is hand harvested in the cool of the morning from a small vineyard around the corner. Whole bunch basket pressed to a mix of tank & old French barrels for wild ferment then battonage with extra love for three months. No fining nor filtration & only minimal sulphur at bottling.

About the Producer
Josephine Perry is one of the most exciting emerging producers in Margaret River. Her Dormilona label is setting a new tone for the region. She is focusing on sourcing organically and biodynamically grown fruit, making wine with as little intervention as possible, and bringing an alt-styling to the hero varieties of this famous region.
These are Margaret River wines with flair and originality. The quality of her releases was vindicated with her winning the 2016 Young Guns of Wine Winemaker of the Year. Hers is a star on the rise as the scarcity and want for her colourful range increases year on year.
