Avani winemaker Shashi Singh sources her Chardonnay from a warmer section of the Mornington Peninsula.
Here, she finds the flavour depth and power that she wants to see in Chardonnay from this part of Victoria.
She got her feel for Chardonnay production during her time assisting in the winery at the famed Bass Phillip, here Shashi shows off her skills. This is lovely Chardonnay from a very talented winemaker and great value for the region.
What It Tastes Like
Cool climate Chardonnay with some power. Some toastiness and creamy fruit intertwined with grapefruit, peach and green pineapple flavours. Pristine acidity. Bell-clear wine. Not a hair out of place. Lovely drinking.
Chardonnay is from a warmer part of the Mornington Peninsula, from Turramurra estate.
Whole bunch press, barrel fermented in old french oak barrel, and ageing on lees for 7 months. Malo partially complete.
