This is one seriously good Chardonnay. It comes from the Dewar family over at Willow Bridge in the Geographe region, and bang for buck we reckon it's consistently one of the best Chardys going around. "G1-10" is a biblical reference about the beauty and simplicity of the coming together of the land and the sea. From the vineyard these grapes are grown in I'm told you can see the Indian Ocean, and it's this unique combination of the soil from the land and cool temperatures from the sea that makes for mighty fine Chardonnay. All the fruit was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, with some lees stirring, wild yeasts and a mixture of new and older French oak barrels with partial malolactic fermentation. It is in some respects an old school Aussie Chardy with a soft, creamy centre, but in other ways very modern, refined and detailed. This is the fourth vintage of this wine we have sold and each year it's a winner - the previous 2013 received a massi e 95 points from Campbell Mattinson. High-quality stuff at an extremely reasonable price. Chardy lovers take note.

What it Tastes Like

"Full flavoured, complex and textural, yet still lively and refreshing. It sits somewhere in the sensible centre between the massive old-school styles and some of the almost anorexic modern versions of Aus Chardonnay." - Willow Bridge
