McLaren Vale is producing some ridiculously good Grenache at the moment. And for now, at least, while many still see Shiraz as the star variety for the region, there are some epic bargains to be had.

This is one of those bargains.

Grenache can come in many shapes and sizes; this is the sleek, lithe, ethereal side of Grenache’s personality.

If you like the ‘prettiness’, so often found in Pinot Noir, this is going to be right up your alley. No whole bunch, only nine months in old wood, this is a pure, breath-taking take on this magnificent variety.

In Gary Walsh’s 94 point review, he remarked that this release is quite simply, “Unforced and beautiful to drink.”

We loved it and are sure you will too.

What It Tastes Like

“Red fruits, plenty of spice, toffee apples, hazelnuts. Medium bodied, juicy cherry mingles with spice and savoury autumnal flavours – decay and beauty – an almost Pinot-like expression of Grenache with a feathery mouth-feel, light drag of emery tannin, and dried herb and spice on a pretty long finish. Unforced and beautiful to drink. Go Gomas!” - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
