For years, Jonothan Mogg and Belinda Low have bought grapes from local grower Alastair Taylor, and in 2015 they finally managed to get their hands on a small amount of his coveted Pinot Meunier fruit.
The wine they have made is a fine, elegant example of the variety with a distinctively European feel. It has freshness and appeal as a young wine and amazing longevity in the cellar.

What It Tastes Like
Fresh berries, smoke, autumn leaves and a mysterious herbal note running through the perfume. Smells unreal. The palate is fresh and juicy, showing cherries and spice on a bed of fine powdery tannins. Gorgeous drinking now but with plenty of gas in the tank if you want to cellar it for a while.

VINEYARD The vineyard was planted in 1990, close planted and put onto a Scot Henry trellis system in order to maximise the sunlight into the canopy and enhance ripening. It’s cane pruned and hand picked and generally yields about 5-7 T per hectare.
WINEMAKING Some whole bunch, around 20-30% with the addition of a small amount of Pinot Noir. Basket pressed and into 2-3 year old French Oak for 10 months. Lately fined and filtered for bottling.
