Grace Farm have set a cracking pace in the decade since establishing their sustainable and organically grown vineyard in Margaret River.
Their Sauvignon Blanc Semillon stays true to the regional style of crisp and refreshingly dry white, but with a little more interest. A small portion of the fruit is fermented in new oak, lending a little more background texture to the vibrant, youthful flavours on show here.
Gary Walsh awarded it 93 points and James Halliday rated it 92, calling it “an enjoyable, bargain-priced blend.” Top drinking for the ‘classic-dry-white’ lovers out there.

The Grace Farm SBS is old world meets new. The style favours complexity over simplicity by integrating the freshness of stainless steel tank fermentation with the flavour, structure and texture provided by 10% brand new oak barrel fermentation. The style offers the possibility of enjoying the fresh fruit character of each variety when young, and showcases the strength of each in the blend, but it also allows the wine to age beautifully and develop texture as it ages.

About the Producer
After being established for only a little over a decade, the wines of Grace Farm are garnering a lot of attention. Grown with sustainability at the front of mind, owners John and Elizabeth Mair have compiled a crack team with Tim Quinlan as viticulturalist and Jonathan Mettam as winemaker, the wines being produced from these barely 10-year-old vines are nothing short of remarkable. Their specialities are the hero varieties of the region: Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon and Chardonnay, all of which are of the highest quality. A future premier producer of the region, to be sure.
Margaret River is recognised as one of the country’s finest wine growing regions. The quality of the region’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay rival the very best in the world. But Margaret River is no two-trick-pony. There, Tempranillo and Malbec are excelling, Touriga Nacional seems to be quite at home, Chenin Blanc is getting serious and even pockets of Nebbiolo are rearing their heads. Watch this space.
