About

A collaboration between two bright young stars of Australian winemaking here. This is fruit from the Lightfoot & Sons Vineyard in Gippsland in the hands of Matt Burton (Gundog Estate) and Dylan McMahon (Seville Estate). They've utelised whole bunches in the ferment to great effect, eeking out the more savoury and spicy side of Gippsland Pinot Noir. It's a slightly funky and wild style of Pinot Noir with loads of personality, one that won over Andrew Graham in his 93 point review, who called it "complex and satisfying, low acid, sappy/juicy Victorian Pinot in a clever modern style."

What it Tastes Like

"Curiously, I notice the stem character even more on the nose of this Gippsland Pinot, the aromatics really quite meaty and spicy. Yet the palate delivers fresh raspberry fruit to cancel out the cloves and spice, delivering something quite satisfying, complete with softer tannins and a little x-factor. There’s still a healthy dose of whole bunch spiciness, but this feels like a complex and satisfying, low acid, sappy/juicy Victorian Pinot in a clever modern style." - Andrew Graham (Oz Wine Review)
