- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
The 2014 red wines from Sarah Crowe at Yarra Yering are some of the finest of the vintage. She masterfully nurtured these from paddock to bottle, one small ferment at a time. The vintage conditions nie on perfect, the execution impeccable, stars aligning on one of the country's great sites. The Agincourt is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec grown on the Gruyere estate. It's medium-bodied and impeccably balanced. A classic Yarra Valley 'Claret', with dark fruit and a hint of leaf. One for the cellar or a special occasion. These are some of the final remaining stocks of the remarkable 2014 wines from Sarah.
What it Tastes Like
It's darkly fruited and delicately framed by polished cedar. There classic cassis, black currant and a lift of plum and spice from the Malbec. The leafy notes of the Cabernet feel harmonious and well placed with the fruit. The palate is long, fine and structured. It's a lovely wine with a decade or more before it really hits it's straps.

About the Producer
Yarra Yering are one of the Yarra Valley’s most prestigious and historic wineries. The original vines planted in 1969 form the backbone of this vineyard and were some of the first in the region since the collapse of the local wine trade in 1920. Today, Yarra Yering stands as a benchmark producer, and with the formidable winemaking mind of Sarah Crowe at the helm, looks to be entering a second golden age. Sarah was named James Halliday’s Winemaker of the Year for 2017 off the back of her exceptional work with the 2014, 2015 and 2016 releases.
The Yarra Valley stands tall as one of the country’s finest cool-climate wine regions. Only a short jaunt from Melbourne, the Yarra has become a tourist hot-spot for its stunning scenery, high quality produce, and of course, as the home to some of the country’s most iconic wine producers. From the extraordinarily elegant Cabernets and Syrahs that populate the ‘Valley floor’, to the precise and complex versions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that hail from the higher climes of the Yarra, this region is diverse and in a state of change. As temperatures rise and phylloxera infiltrates each pocket of the Yarra Valley, the range of alternative varieties from continental Europe is sure to increase to create a more colourful picture of the region. The Yarra embodies so much of what is great about the modern Australian wine scene.
