His robust take on Sagrantino is an excellent example of this oft times difficult to navigate variety. It shows the variety’s signature firm tannin and deep, dark fruit, but with an element of approachability which is key to making this wine loveable immediately on release.

About the Producer
Mark Day has spent more than 25 years as a winemaker in McLaren Vale and abroad. With his vast wealth obtained during his time in the industry, his labels, Koltz and Eccolo, reflect a slightly different side of McLaren Vale. They are wines ripened b the Australian sun, though made in styles influenced heavily by his time in Italy, specifically in Valpolicella. These are authentic and original wines made with Mark hands on philosophy.
