About The Wine
The soft-speaking, deep-thinking, Peter Graham of Domenica is “one of the region’s brightest stars” according to Campbell Mattinson.
Since starting his own operation out from under the wing of his uncle Rick Kinsbrunner at Giaconda, Pete’s elegantly handcrafted wines have been some of the very best to be found in Beechworth. His passion for Rhone styled Syrah and Roussanne/Marsanne is one of the hallmarks of his brand.
This wine is something of a labour of love for Graham. Where the Shiraz, Nebbiolo and Chardonnay sell themselves, this is the quiet achiever in the Domenica range and Pete’s favourite wine to make. He tends the fruit dutifully and farms it organically. Everything in the winery is done as gently as possible, from the natural ferments to filling the barrels with no force but gravity.

A classic blend of rhone valley whites, these varieties are all about texture.
Vinification is similar to the chardonnay, though the juice is extracted and settled more carefully, due to the phenolic nature of these varieties, and in order to display the purity of their exotic aromatics.
No new barrels are used in the production of this wine, and the maturation is restricted to 10 months.
The result is a voluptuous wine, rich and exotically spicy, floral, and edged with the ever present mineral spine of Beechworth granite.
