If you're on the hunt for high-value easy drinking wines, Margaret River hasn't always been a happy hunting ground. "Cheap and cheerful" is not generally what comes to mind from the area, but every now and then something like this pops its head up... The Discovery Cabernet is made up of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, with portions of Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc added to smooth off the edges and fill out the palate. "The blend delivers palate extension, fleshiness, and early approachability." says winemaker Bruce Jukes and he's worked this vintage into a great place. If you're looking for good quality mid-week Cabernet, in the words of Gary Walsh, this "Does the job nicely." There is scarcely a Cabernet under $25 worth buying from Margaret River, but this is definitely one of them.

The blend delivers palate extension, fleshiness and early approachability. A combination of personality and purpose for those who enjoy soft tannins, succulent red fruits and simply love wine. Rich aromas of currants, plums and cedar, complimented by hints of cloves, vanilla pod and glazed cherries. Domaine Naturalist is another of the ‘new guard’ Margaret River producers to keep an eye out for. Owner/winemaker Bruce Jukes has a wealth of winemaking experience both here and abroad, including a stint at Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic Niebaum Coppola winery in the Napa Valley. His wines are made from traditional Margaret River varieties and blends, but with a modern focus on elegance, freshness and balance. Great value too!
