Jasper Hill is a Heathcote institution. Thier family owned vineyards have been producing fine wines since the early eighties and with second generation winemaker Emily McNally taking up the charge of her father, they aren't slowing down anytime soon. After bushfires ravaged their beautiful Georgia's Paddock vineyard in 1987, they decided plant about a hectare of Nebbiolo in 1993. It was a very shrewd choice. Their estate-grown Neb has been heralded amongst "the top of the Australian nebbiolo tree" by critics and punters alike. The 2013 is a wonderful vintage of this wine, showing balance and restraint along with the characteristic Heathcote intensity. James Halliday awarded it 96 points making it one of their top rated Nebbiolos ever. It is only ever made in small quantities so don't hesitate if you want to try this rare wine from one of Victoria's most iconic wineries.

What it Tastes Like

"Good hue and depth; a convincing sequel to the '12, even if not scaling the absolute heights of that wine; the bouquet is very fragrant, violets, rose petals and cedar to the fore; and the palate creates great tension between the savoury/spicy notes and the dark cherry-accented fruit." - James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion)
