About

The Douglas blend is as unique as it is delicious. Cabernet, Merlot and Pinot Noir make up the blend this year - it really is a one of a kind red.

The blend differs from vintage to vintage, and is meant to be a complete expression of the season as seen through the prism of the Bannockburn vineyards. A watermark for the year, or something similar.

Mike Bennie awarded the 2013 vintage 93+ points , describing thus: ” It’s really captivating. I imagine sitting over this wine for a very long time.”

A beautifully balanced, unique take on a classic style. A vineyard and a season distilled into a bottle. Awesome stuff.

What It Tastes Like

“Really meaty scents, loads of green pepper and beetroot and briar too. That fantastic feral kind of scent, angry, wild, mashed fruit in undergrowth, grapes moulting off vines. Wild in flavours too, more meat and savouriness, black plums, salty liquorice, but silky as fresh satin sheets, long, settling in the palate with ultra fine tannins and cool acidity. It’s really captivating. I imagine sitting over this wine for a very long time.” - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
