This quote beautifully sums up winemaker Ben Haines' feelings on his current position: _“The feeling this place gives you is indescribable; you simply cannot deny the heritage and the sheer beauty and energy of this very special vineyard. There is so much to acknowledge of the past here at Langi – the more you dig, the more you find. This is part of what makes the future so exciting.”_ And an exciting future is exactly what Ben has in mind for this iconic winery. Here's a 'natural wine' from Mount Langi. Pinot Noir sent to bottle whilst still undergoing ferment. It was not disgorged, received no dosage, no sulphur, no other additives. Mount Langi Pet-Nat. Well I never. And to top it off, in Mike Bennie's words, Haines has "Nailed it." It has depth and refreshment factor, it has vitality. It's just a really good drink. With Haines at the wheel, Mount Langi is in safe hands and we can't wait to see what else lies in the future of this historic vineyard.

What it Tastes Like

"It smells of still fermenting pinot noir grapes, that prettiness of red cherry, sweetness of strawberry, whiff of herbs, pop of rose floral character. In the palate, light, fresh, fine, raised on fine perky bubbles, gently sweet then finishes sour sweet and with mouthwatering, pleasing bitterness. It’s a stunner. It’s so smashable. It’s so well done." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
